JTCHS’s Opa Locka Children’s Wellness Center Hosts Live Cooking Demo with Celebrity Chef

In an effort to encourage healthy eating habits in a fun, meaningful and engaging way, the Jessie Trice Community Health System hosted a “Live Healthy Cooking Demo” with Chef Richard Ingraham. Chef Ingraham is personal chef to NBA All-Star, Dwyane Wade and wife/actress Gabrielle Union. This free event took place at the JTCHS – Opa-Locka Children’s Wellness Center.

During the live demo, Chef Ingraham demonstrated a number of healthy, affordable and delightful meals for the JTCHS’s pediatric patients and their families. Attendees not only received an opportunity to watch the cooking demonstration, but also participated in the experience by creating their own dishes under the guidance of Chef Ingraham and his assistant, Chef Natasha Wong. Among the delightful menu selections featured were: Mexican lasagna, fresh fruit and veggie juice and a yogurt parfait for the perfect dessert.
